Popcorn is actually a great snack! But when we add too much butter, sugar or salt, it definitely loses some of it's virtue! I do advise my clients to avoid microwave popcorn due to the chemicals used to make the butter flavor. Instead, I suggest they pop their own (stove top; no popper needed) or buy some already popped. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods brands make a popcorn that is so sweet, no butter is needed. Also, Half Naked brand is super sweet too, by using sweet corn and a hint of olive oil instead of butter.

And my absolute FAVORITE popcorn on Earth is definitely Little Lad's Herbal Corn from Corinth, ME. I get it at Whole Foods, but sometimes have trouble finding it. You may have to call them for store locations. I am telling you, Yum Yum Queen, once you taste Little Lad's Herbal Corn, you'll never crave butter-covered popcorn again. Definitely check it out!

You're right - it's great that you learned something about yourself. And now that the splurge is over, it's back to sensible eating and exercise. No worries.

Yes, a little healthy competition (or the desire to quell the naysayer) is a very good form of accountability!

I agree with Irene; most people are not really afraid to fail; they're afraid to succeed, because it means letting go of a lot of old thought patterns, behaviors and really accepting what success brings. It puts people out of their comfort zones. A lot of people don't succeed, because they have more of a belief in failure than a belief in success. If you cannot picture a positive outcome, then surely you won't produce one. This negative thinking has a lot of sources and sadly, for a lot of folks, it stems from being told that they're not good enough or they don't deserve happiness. It's a hard thing to overcome, but once you do, it opens the floodgates! Peace!

I like the Mariana Williams quote that says it is not failure that keeps us from accomplishing great things, but success. I think people are fearful of the changes that success will require.
